Eco Friendly

Over the last 10 years or so, terms such as “going green” and “eco-friendly” have become buzz words, and its meaning can often become confusing or lost. By understanding the true meaning of eco-friendly, you can implement the practices that will lead to healthier living for all of us, including the planet, and ourselves, its inhabitants!

What is Eco Friendly?

By definition, it means earth-friendly or not harmful to the environment. This term most commonly refers to products that contribute to green living or practices that help conserve resources like water and energy. Eco-friendly products also prevent contributions to air, water and land pollution. We can all engage in eco-friendly habits or practices, simply by being more conscientious of how we use resources.

As a painting contractor, there are so many ways to contribute to helping the environment, far more than 30+ years ago, when our primary coatings were solvent based. The painting landscape took a dramatic shift approximately 20 years or so ago toward acrylic latex. This immediately made the products much more environmentally friendly. As our understanding of VOC’s grows, the industry is always adapting and improving, so the products we offer on a daily basis are in fact becoming greener each year.

Most people think a green paint job means springing for a few cans of low-VOC paint. And yes, that’s a great place to start, but making a painting project more environmentally sensitive doesn’t end there. Simple things like recycling your waste, reducing waste by not over purchasing, choosing nontoxic caulking, driving directly to the job (gas emissions are the largest VOC source). Yes, there are many simple and easy ways to improve air quality, and limit exposure to toxic chemicals when performing a painting project. As our understanding of VOC’s grows, the industry is always adapting and improving, so the products we are able to offer on a daily basis are becoming greener each year!

So what is this (VOC) you have heard of?

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) solids and liquids that convert easily to gas or vapor at room temperature—are contained in many paint products and have been linked to a variety of health problems. On the mild side, they can make your eyes water and give you headaches; more seriously, they can trigger asthma and other respiratory concerns.

When we are working in hospitals, nursing homes, or customers who have sensitive respiratory concerns, our number one favorite choice is a product from Sherwin-Williams, called Harmony. Harmony® Paint’s enhanced formula features Formaldehyde Reducing Technology to promote better indoor air quality, and it is a zero VOC rated product!

So as you can tell, in the ever-changing paint industry, the coating advances are coming rapidly. You need a contractor such as ONE STOP PAINTING, who stays on the cutting edge of the ever-changing and evolving products. Not all new products will perform to our high standard or expectations at ONE STOP. We are constantly evaluating new products, and adding only the best ones into the coating systems we provide to you, our customers. You’re hiring a company that has been in business for 32 years, with an average overall experience of approximately 500 years combined experience between our staff! That’s a lot of painting, that’s a lot of hands-on experience, and that a lot of the reason why we have been winning awards for 32 years in our industry.

Pet Friendly

So, when we say that we are an animal friendly company, it means we are full of love and respect for animals; especially when it comes to our customers pets. We understand they are part of the family, and we are very happy you’ve chosen us to do the work for you. We are proud of our company and of the personal service we provide. We feel we are very unique in our market and we put a very special touch into everything we do, as well as a little love!

Not only are we respectful of your home, but also your family and your pets as well! While we are at your home we are very happy to help out if they need to go in and out, if they need to be fed, if you want us to check on the water bowls. You will never find a company more pet friendly and loving in the painting industry than ours. It is another one of the many qualities that we feel set us both apart, and ahead of others.

Jeff personally grew up with both cats and dogs from childhood through his adult life. Currently, he has 2 incredible Puggles; Sammy is going on 10 years, and he came into Jeff’s life from a breeder after just eight weeks. “I remember the first day I held him in the palm of my hands like it was just yesterday.” – Jeff. My second puggles is Chloe, she was a year old when she entered Jeff’s life as a rescue (had he known about rescue dogs prior, rest assured they both would’ve come from a rescue shelter).

Here at One Stop Painting, we are a small family owned company. We’re large enough to tackle big projects, but also small enough to do all of the little things; like making sure your cat has plenty of food and water! On the rest of this page I’m going to share with you pictures of my team, along with their pets! And please be assured that any time we are working on your home or business, if there are pets involved with the project we always take extra care and attention. I cannot tell you how many customers call after their project is completed to let us know how much the family misses us, and very often we hear stories of how the pets myself and are anxiously looking out the windows for our trucks to pull up in the morning . After 32 years I still love hearing the stories like this from my customers!
